After building the "version 2" on commission, I was contacted by someone who wanted one like it in gray, but tripled, with a removable lid. This one was a bit of a pain in the butt- miters, miters, and more miters!
It's 99.9% wood, and painted with exterior latex.

Thanks!
It's actually funny hearing hearing that- I came up with the texturing technique in response to an old friend, who is a notorious mid-project critic " it looks like wood", , and " is it supposed to look like wood?"
Man, am I glad to hear it doesn't look like wood!!
