Dolphin
Submarine Commander

I received a set of Red Laser custom figures and decided to use them largely for parts. I noticed that there were the light grey parts needed to make an Action Force Dolphin custom, so that was the first project. In terms of body parts, some of them just needed some detail painted. The original Dolphin used Zap's head, but to make him a bit more unique I used a custom-cast version of that head that has a beard and some extra hair added.

Head – custom-cast
Arms, torso, waist, legs – Red Laser custom parts

Submachine gun – Marauder Inc.

SBS Sniper

I received a set of Red Laser custom figures and decided to use them largely for parts. I noticed that there were the light grey parts needed to make an Action Force Dolphin custom, so that was the first project. There were enough additional parts in that colour to also make another custom, one with the “basic” 1982 torso. To match Dolphin, this new custom is also Royal Navy, he's a sniper with the Special Boat Service. And again to match Dolphin, his code name is Porpoise.

Head – Storm Shadow (Black Major reproduction)
Arms, torso, waist, legs – Red Laser custom parts

Rifle – Marauder Inc.

Horror-Show
Oktober Guard Anti-Armour

I've had the custom-sculpted parts for this figure for a while, and finally got around to completing the figure. Horror-Show is supposed to be a massive beast of a man, but Hasbro's o-ring attempt at the character (from the comic packs) resulted in a Horror-Show that would be less than 6 feet tall. As you can see in the pics, this custom is much more accurate in terms of height and bulk. This is accomplished by using arms and legs from the Sgt. Savage line, which go along with the massive sculpted pieces to produce the largest Joe custom figure I've done. A high-quality to-scale RPG-7 completes the figure. I don't remember where it came from.

Head, torso, waist – Cast of sculpt by Krexx Radek
Arms – D-Day (Sgt. Savage)
Legs – Commando Sgt. Savage

Grenade launcher - unknown

I saw the first pic and was very impressed. Excellent paint apps and just looks great. Made me wanna get one of those sculpts.

But looking at it compared to a real Hasbro figure, it looks too tall to fit in with the rest of the team.

Yeah he's definitely oversized, but that's what I was going for. Krexx Radek sculpts are in general are a bit bigger than vintage figures, so when I have them all done he won't look quite so big. But still really, really big.

I like the use of sgt savage parts! I bought a few before I knew they were so big. they do offer an alternative to modern figures if you want more size.

I've used Sgt. Savage arms before when making extra-large figures (Maj Barrage, Hammerdown), but this is the first time I've used the legs which add even more size.

I always felt the Hasbro figure was too small. Like if the standard 3 3/4" figure was 6 feet, Horrorshow was 5'10" at best. Granted you made him like 7 foot something, but it isn't completely unheard of.

Charles Barkley 6'6", Wahlburg 5'11", The Rock 6'5", and Shaq 7'1".

He's definitely HUGE. I may experiment with shortening the legs a bit in the future, but for now he's just massive.

Oktober Guard Infantry

I've had the custom-sculpted parts for this figure for a while, and finally got around to completing the figure. The head, torso and waist are sculpted by Krexx Radek in order to create comic-accurate Oktober Guard figures. The torso parts needed quite a bit of filling to make them work along the edges, but other than that it's really just a paint job. Marauder Inc. makes an RPK machine gun, which is comic-accurate as well.

Head, torso, waist – cast of sculpt by Krexx Radek
Arms – Action Marine
Legs – Red Star

Machine gun – Marauder Inc.

Stormavik
Oktober Guard Airborne Infantry

I've had the custom-sculpted parts for this figure for a while, and finally got around to completing the figure. The head, torso and waist are sculpted by Krexx Radek in order to create comic-accurate Oktober Guard figures. The PPSh-41 submachine gun is made by Kaiyodo for its Skeleton World War II Soldier series, and is relatively expensive but a really nice, accurate 1/18 version of that firearm. The only trouble with the paint job is that it's difficult to determine what Stormavik's hair colour is supposed to be. In the comics sometimes it seems dark brown, other light, while one of the figures released by Hasbro has him without hair. So I compromised by using a light brown wash to represent a recently buzzed head.

Head, torso, waist – cast of sculpt by Krexx Radek
Arms – Spearhead
Legs – Taurus

Submachine gun - Kaiyodo

Torpedo
Navy SEAL

This figure is built around the head sculpted by Krexx Radek, which is based on Torpedo's cartoon appearance and allows a version without the air mask and goggles. Instead of just replacing the head, I took the opportunity to crease a new bulkier version of Torpedo, to make him more imposing than the original figure, which is quite slim. Eel parts were an easy choice for a combat swimmer, painted using Torpedo's original colour scheme.

Head – sculpt by Krexx Radek
Arms, waist, legs - Eel
Torso - Torpedo

Harpoon gun, fins - Eel
