So the Mega Construx figures, especially the MOTU figures from the Heroes line, have really got me back into toy collecting/customizing in a way I hadn't been in it since the 25th line of Joes came out. They're fun little figures and so easy to mix, match, and customize. I've been posting my Mega custom Joes in another thread, but I thought I'd share (or reshare) some of my custom MOTU figures.

Clawful:

Parts:
Head, arms, torso - Mega Construx Movie TMNT translucent Leonardo
Waist, legs - Mega Construx Skeletor
Claws, club - KO MOTU brick figures (Kopf brand)

I cut the top off the head, just using the had for the ball joint socket and sculpting the Clawful head on. Then sculpted the shell onto the torso. The hands for regular brick figures don't fit Mega Construx arms as-is, so I cut the pegs off and converted them to ball joints to fit better in the wrists of the MC arms and allow some pivoting as well as rotation. Hope you enjoy!

The War Witch (new character):

Image

Image

Parts:
Head - Cortana
Body - Teela
Staff - Kopf KO brick Sorceress figure (painted)
Skirt - craft paper (painted)

Bio: On planet Eternia, rumors have long existed of a hidden continent occasionally seen but never visited. If any have visited, they did not return. The undersea people have reported more unrecognized warships sailing the seas, apparently from the direction of the the mysterious land. Long-range audio/visual scans have provided glimpses of the person believed to be the leader - a woman known only as the War Witch. Her powers quite possibly rival those of even the Sorceress and the devotion of her followers is fanatical. Could the Masters soon be facing a new threat?

Thanks! Hope to get quite a few more made. Some actual MOTU characters I want to make but I'm trying to stick to my own creations or characters who aren't likely to get official releases.

Up now, the leader of the Vine Jungle Tribe. He's the one responsible for exiling Beast Man after his brutish, evil ways were revealed. To atone for the crimes of Beast Man, the leader has pledged his help to He-Man and the rest of the Masters.

Up now is Craven, the winged terror! This was a Remco Warrior Beasts figure I had when I was a kid. He was one of the rare non-MOTU figures that worked really well with MOTU figures, I thought. Sure, his body was the same as nearly every other Warrior Beast baddie, but his head sculpt was probably the best in the line and the body looked great in the orange and black color scheme they gave it. I decided I had to bring him into my MC MOTU line.
Construction:
Head to toe - Beast Man. I shaved the head down to a blank I could sculpt onto and used Apoxy to sculpt the crow/raven head.

warwitch is a really great figure! she was my favorite until I scrolled down and saw your Craven! i'm not familiar with the source figure, but your custom is awesome! in another color scheme he could be a thundercat villain!

Thanks! I'm really having fun building my little fantasy world of Eternia using these figures as a base. Here's a pic of the source for Craven:

I stumbled across Craven in the "gallery" Mark. Well done. This made me take a look at the Lost World figures and nostalgia hit me. I've always known that i *might* take a crack at Hercules since i recall having him as a child but i'm looking really fondly at Machiste now as well.

You're providing inspiration :D

Thanks! Since it looks like MOTU might be getting a stronger push from MC (between Castle Grayskull and they've added "MOTU" tags in the gallery), I'm holding back on making customs of MOTU characters. Of the ones I've made, they've produced or announced around 80% of them. No sense wasting good fodder on making characters they'll give me. So now I'm adding lines like Lost World, Warrior Beasts, maybe Blackstar, and a few others (I do have one MOTU figure I'm working on right now, but don't expect to see it produced).

Trap Jaw:

Parts:
Legs - TMNT The Movie Translucent Leonardo
Torso, left arm - Faker
Head - He-Man
Right arm - Various brick pieces glued together and a CoD rifle
Belt - TMNT Leonardo with parts off of a Skeletor harness

Still going to do a bit of work on this one, but he's done enough for now. The gun attachment is removable. I did not make the hook or claw yet but probably will eventually:

Remco's Skullman:

This is another from the Remco knock-offs that were riding the MOTU coattails. His first version was pretty obviously a Skeletor knock-off, but they released a second version with an uncovered head that wasn't quite as obvious a knock-off. However, the head was almost comically over-sized so he just looked goofy to me. I always liked the Remco figures; of all the knock-off MOTU style figures, they were probably the best looking, overall.
Having a spare Skeletor let me make this. The legs are from Faker, the rest is Skeletor. I cut up the harness to just have the cowl and used a grocery bag to cut out the cape.

MOTU-Movie Evil-Lyn:

I had a spare Teela so thought I'd paint her up to look similar to Evil-Lyn from the Dolph Lundgren movie. I'll probably use her as EL's mom/wife of The Faceless One.

I like that Craven. Needs some wings though.
