Bought some of that liquid chrome refill ink a long time ago, but recently started playing around with it after telling a buddy about it. Some trial and error but got it to work pretty decent. Based on some FB group posts I used some pledge future shine floor polish as a sealant to keep fingerprints off the chrome but still keep a shine

For this character - Blackthorne - I did his right gauntlet and bastard sword blade. Also the small blades you see from the back

This is before the chrome was on the gauntlet. Using the new BFS elf for an unarmored version of same character

Some other less finished chrome work

Awesome!

Would clear yellow work to make a gold version? since we are waiting for them to actually produce a gold liquid chrome?

My guess is it’ll look like clear yellow over regular silver paint. Which is a decent approximation or gold, but nothing like what liquid gold chrome would actually look like

Some extra work. So I tried out the question of clear yellow on the dwarf’s helm. Works ok I think. Still not the same. But interesting

I used a yellow highlighted on silver paint recently and got a similar result. It does, however, need a clear coat of some sort to keep it from rubbing off.

the yellow looks like 22k or 24k gold, perfectly suited for this type custom. I can't believe you are leaving all that shiny chrome :) where are the weathered battle scars!

That stuff looks pretty good. I have a can of pasti-kote chrome enamel from years ago I was thinking about using but honestly your stuff looks as good.

So does this stuff rub off without a clear coat?

Wow! That looks awesome. I've been playing around with the liquid chrome, mainly for blades, but now I may have to try it on some of my BFS figures too.

thanks guys.

Spin - it does not rub off. So it's superior to silver spray paint in that sense. But without the clear coat the finish will smudge and dull. The Pledge with Future shine is the best coat for keeping the chrome look
