Thanks ;) . 2dark2c, I don't know, it was a cheap plastic toy I had for ages and ages since childhood, and I broke it until hardly nothing was left :) .

I bring you more, more modern and better hopefully;

Here is Nytrogen, a GI Joe member that uses a nytrogen pistol to freeze his opponents and to destroy with the intense cold doors and other obstacles.

very clean. i like your sci fi looking customs best.

the yellow driver needs a name befitting riding in a "septic tank". i'm sure the cobra motor pool call him "dookie" behind his back. "scum", "scuz", "crud",
"dangler" , "plop" , "pile", or to be less gross maybe "float" or "flush".

for his bio to be funny and cryptic " Will E. Makeit". my grand paw would always talk about gross funny things and i remember him saying he read a book called "out house dash" by willy make it :)

Thanks ;) . Dangler sounds fun. I also had thought of Rodium as in the radioactive element. But Will E. Makeit is seriously fun, if I print his filecard that will be there for sure :lol: .

I bring you a few more, still of 2009;

Here is my custom Tunnel Viper, inspired by some customizers which used parts of a Lanard figure. I thoguht of recreating that, but sculpting myself and using VvV parts. I presented this custom in a sort of dio story, for a spanish forum, so I will translate every caption;
-Here is a day in the life of the Tunnel Viper. Early in the morning, he does a recon to make sure no enemies are in the zone and he goes to the tunnel...
Image
-Once arrived, he leaves his heavy equipment and he begins continuing the tunnel perforation...
Image
-Once he's taken the transpenetrator that he had previously camouflaged, he proceeds to perforate to create a gallery to hide Cobra material.
Image
Once the main perforation has finished, he takes out his protections (vital to protect him from rocks and other debris that comes forth) and he takes his due rest...
Image
Once rested, he starts one of the most important phases of the tunnel creation; obstacle demolition. He gets his backpack full of explosives, and fits his protective gear, (important if it explodes before time) and he proceeds to do a few controlled demolitions...
Image
At last, after 5 hours of intense work, our friend Tunnel Viper comes out of the tunnel. He's exhausted, but he still needs to find wood to make support beams, and leaves and branches to cover the tunnel entrance.
Image
The Tunnel Viper leaves the transpenetrator in the entrance with lots of care, as if it gets damaged or captured by the enemy, it would be discounted from his meager salary.
Image
The Tunnel Viper is satisfied with his work ¡he does not want that any boy scout/GI Joe/forest ranger or squirrel finds the tunnel!
Image
Finally, after a hard work's day, he returns to the secret bunker that acts as base.
Image

Here is the Tele Viper Commander, and old concept I came up back in 2009. Following the fashion of the Crimson Guard Commander, or others, I thought Tele Vipers needed a commander and special trooper.ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Here is the HAVOC flying vehicle modified with more firepower and a desert camo, named Desert Wind, with a repaint of Skidmark as pilot, named Stormriser.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Here is El Coyote, a Sierra Gordo recruit. This is a recombination using parts of Bazooka, Armadillo and Sgt. Slaughter.

Image

Image

Image

This is a simple repaint to make Lady Jaye more cartoony, more palatable, although I am not very convinced by it.

Very nice customs !!!! They old very well, it is a pleasure to the eyes to see those oldies again. Red Rad and Metalhead are my favorites from those times.

Many thanks ;) . 2dark2c, while photographing GI Joes, got my interest going in photography ;) . And well, the GI Joes have always been fine art :P .

Turn to the Oktober Guard new recruits;

Many thanks for your kind comments :) . I posted many more, but in separate threads on it's time. Luckily I've still have plenty to share!

Certainly, Hasbro lost a bit of touch in the late 90s, not to mention that in my opinion, 90 % of the modern vintage repaints are rather awful.

Here a few more :) ;

Considering there are not near enough Oktober Guard members, and hoping to even out a bit the odds, I set out onto making a few of them;

Stainless Steel; ruthless general.
Highpyke; mountaneer specialist and urban climbing.
Krippler; leader of the White Tigers.
Pavel & Zlatko; mercenary bounty hunters.
Tundra Killer; experiencied soldier in tundra combats.
Baltik; deep sea specialist.
Breakdown; mechanic specialist.
Strongpoint; heavy weapons specialist.
Captain Volny; pilot.

Image

Image

The Tundra Smasher is a vehicle of the new Oktober Guard sub-team, the White Tiger Force. Designed to cut through dense tundra forests.Image

The pilot along other customs and figures of my collection (click to enlarge);

Here is the White Shark, a modified Cobra Water Moccasin (1986). I have added guns from the General and other small improvements, and repainted it with a White Tiger scheme for the Oktober Guard.

Thanks! I love creating whole factions, but of course, it takes it's time, efforts & parts!

A few more, and with this I finish my 2009 customs.

This is the Red Thunder, dreadnok custom cycle I did a long time ago. Made mainly with cardboard, and the wheels come from the inside of an old VHS :) . Now in bad condition, awaiting to be restored, after a few too many removals.

The Snow Vipers are the high-rank Snow Serpents, with a camo for making them recognizable in heavy arctic storms and pilot of the SSAV. This is a concept I did to reuse a damaged GI Joe vehicle. Now seen it with retrospective, doesn't make much sense overall :lol: .

Try-it Out is the test pilot of Cobra, that tries the deadly weapons of Cobra when they're still in development stage. He was chosen by his fearless attitude, and by his incredible luck in escaping certain death.

Recipe; Cobra Commander v1 head, Hiss Driver waist, torso and arms and Wild Bill VvV legs.

Now we get onto 2010!

Image

This is Dr. Biggles Jones, from the GI Joe/Transformers comics, a interesting character that replaced the role of Dr. Mindbender during some time. My first modern mould Joe custom.

Here a quick mod; I got 5 or 6 Crimson Shadow Troopers without helmet, and not really liking how big the helmet looks on, I decided to cast Crimson Guard vintage heads and replacing them.

Image

Here is Charbroil, in a customized version of what would have looked like if Hasbro had introduced him into the Slaughter's Marauders.

Image

Image

Image

Image

This is Deep Freeze, a Cobra ninja that uses nytrogen powered swords to freeze his opponents.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Here is Fireless, a custom of a Cobra Firefighter and nemesis of Barbecue. He is specialized in dangerous and toxic fires in laboratories and armories.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Here is Deadshot, the character from the DC Universe made with a GI Joe figure.

some really wild and awesome designs! deep freeze and fireless are especially impressive and would make for a hell of a two pack :) who is the marauder second from left ? isn't mutt an original member too?

Thanks :) . Never thought about it, as I made them in rather separate times :) , they came together by chance on the posting haha.

That's another custom ;) , an idea for a Marauders standard trooper/green shirt. The other are originals, just to show it's similarity :) . (however, Barbecue was missing one arm, and Spirit and Footloose both, and I restored them :). As I found it easy and fun, I thought I would expand the ranks!

A few more of 2010;

Lampreys Marine; an attempt on a more realistic Lampreys, to make use of the then new found technology of casting heads in greenish clear resin :) .

Image

Image

Image

Sea Otter; a joe sailor, one to complement the USS Flagg (if I ever have it haha) or other GI Joe boats.

These are Serpentor's Guards, when I learned of Coils and Serpentor's organization in the modern comics I thought it would be cool to create some new soldiers for Serpentor.

Here are a few more of 2010;

Urban Trooper; the GI Joe version of the Green Shirt for urban warfare. I thought the Green shirts were not very useful in many terrains, and that GI Joe should have specialized troopers for different warfares. So, I rudimentarily casted with plasticene Blast off helmet, as it is not very much seen, and made a few troopers for various circumstances, this is the Urban one. I left this idea, so maybe now I will consider him a specialized Joe, I don't know.

Image

Image

Image

All hail Serpentor! Everything must conform now to the new emperor! hence, a new outfit must be found for the regular Vipers, lest we confuse in Cobra's Civil War! so it was born the Serpentor Viper. One of the first things I did after discovering casting procedures, was to cast Vipers heads :) . The casting was not perfect, but good enough for me.

Image
Image
Image

Aaand, wondering what more Viper I could do, it ocurred to me a Red Shadows Viper would be cool :) . In myJoeverse, he is a renegade Viper that now works for the Red Shadows.

Image

Hope you like 'em.

Lots of great stuff here. Cool parts combos. Cool character designs. Nice paint apps. I enjoy seeing your RAH figures. They remind me of why I got into GIJoe.

Keep 'em coming.
