I love that Cobra La seems to be more well regarded these days. This is an excellent take. I had started adding some articulation to those Chitauri figures but was never sure what I wanted to turn them into.

It took me a while to warm to Cobra-La but after reimagining them for my storytelling purposes, I really enjoy the figure designs.

The Chitauri were awesome sculpts and super disappointing because of the odd articulation included. The knees and elbows appear to be sculpted for joints but maybe left static in the name of costs savings.

Next on the bench, DeeJay or DeeJay Jr. I haven't decided if this is a reimagining, an offspring, or a homage characterImage

John Boyega as DeeJay.

I never had the original as a kid but I remember seeing the pegs clogged with him. I picked this Black Series Finn up on clearance. I thought the feet were too small and goofy and replaced them with these VvV Alpine boots. Suddenly with the goofy boots I knew what the final product would be. I tried to get the original colors in without copying the original uniform. The Ironman suitcase is now his sound equipment and the ARAH cast of Sci Fi's helmet complete the look. ImageImageImage

Dingo

Best described as a wildcard vigilante, Dingo is an Australian born world traveler. He has spent time in the wilds of Africa, South America, and many Pacific Island nations. Returning home he became the protector of the outback. The Adventure Team, Slaughter's Marauders, and others have all crossed paths with him. Dingo is dangerous but only to those who attempt harm to his native country. Now that the Dreadnoks have rebuilt the Melbourne chapter, he has to call on the assistance of GI Joe.

Dingo started as a simple lbc with some paint touches to the awesome tattooed Jurrasic Park figure. I've had the Ragin Spoon gator kit for a while and decided to incorporate it here, but I also wanted a somewhat more traditional look. A Heavy Duty vest and Crosshair hat was the answer but then my initial slight paint touched became more involved.
The hunting rifle is a chap mei action and barrel grafted to a GI Joe stock and grip. The machete is a BAT blade on a sword hilt. The whip is a last minute addition consisting of packaging wire ties and a sword hilt.

That Crocodile Dundee scene is exactly what I was going for!!!

Here's the best I could do on the gunsImage

The gun on the left is the one that Hasbro has included with nearly everyone this century.

The one on the right is similar but smaller than the Chap Mei rifle I used.

Hope it helps

Made some head swaps and modded the beret head so the hood covers the collar. Planning on only painting the heads and not doing anything to the bodies.Image
