Magica De Spell is a powerful and ruthless Sorceress who haunts the stories of Dismal Twilight.

Another Disney Afternoon character turned into a human character, I started Magica as a pretty faithful human adaptation of her original Duck Tales look. I started playing with some other options, and when I saw her modern look had some similarities to what I was going for, I decided to base the figure off the newer design. Limited lower articulation, but I'm very pleased with how she came out.

Parts Recipe:
Padmé Amidala - Base figure, arms
Mia Wallace - Head
Emma Frost - Cape

Wow! As soon as I get home I am going to frantically search for that head. The body is equally impressive.

Thanks!

There's some decent fodder in the reaction/retro figure lines, but they've really shot up in price. I remember getting full waves / sets for less than $5 a figure after they sat around a while, but I guess the newer stuff is being made in smaller numbers.

Still, adapting the neck and repainting the eyes can go a long way on those headsculpts.

Zipper is the team's "master key," able to help the Rescue Rangers bypass most barriers, be they physical or digital. She's quiet and quick tempered, and fiercely loyal to Monterey Jack. The gregarious pilot is equally fond of her, though the two seldom mention what shared sadness made the unlikely duo come together.

Zipper was difficult to reimagine, being the least human-like to begin with. At one point I was even thinking Zipper would be some sort of robot or drone Gadget invented. Ultimately I decided to go with a young girl under the care of Monterey Jack, and tried to tie in a few visual links to Zipper's cartoon design like the red outfit and blue hair instead of blue skin.

Parts recipe:
Art3mis (Ready Player One) - Head
Beverly (IT) - Base body
Prince Leia (Jabba's Prisoner) - Lower Arms, Legs
Teknique (Fortnite) - Shoes

More Rescue Rangers:

Montgomery "Monterey Jack" Jackson is the Resue Rangers' resident pilot, as well as their muscle if the situation calls for it. Originally from Australia, Monterey Jack has traveled the world, picking up his young friend Zipper somewhere along the way. Monty is loud and boisterous, but also very loyal to the group. He's protective of Gadget, having been a close friend of her father's.

Monterey Jack was actually a pretty straight forward translation to human form. Once I decided I could hand wave the timeline of this version of the Rescue Rangers, I leaned full into the WWI pilot look with the cap and exaggerated mustache. I thought the long jacket and tall boots also helped to suggest a military background, even if it's a horribly out of date look.

Parts Recipe:
McFarlane Phantom of the Opera - Head
Doc Ock - Torso
RoC Destro - Arms, Legs
Steve Rogers - Hands
Captain America - Boots

Steve Rogers - Hands
Captain America - Boots
Han Solo in Endor Gear - Coat
Avac's Lab Cast - Pilot Cap
