I’ve wanted to make a Maverick from Top Gun forever, but the head and helmet were dealbreakers. Enter Spartan 118 Industries and his Tom head shrink and Marauder’s pilot helmet...and a bunch of decals. Sooooo many decals.

Head: Spartan 118 Industries
Body: Sgt Airborne v4
Chest harness: Capt Ace v4
Helmet: Marauder Inc with 30th Action Pilot airmask and BFS wrist pegs

Excellent job on the helmet! How long did it take you to get it just right?

4 days, 3 full sheets of the same decals in different sizes, and a lot of swearing. The only thing that got me through all of the moments when I’d drop the decal or have something be just off and say out loud, “I’m getting too old for this *LASER BLAST*!”, was knowing that it would look good when I was done.

For anyone thinking of applying tiny decals to rounded uneven surfaces, before you start, seriously contemplate the life choices you’ve made that brought you to this point. :D

That is going to require a whole new head so I can color match the skin tones. And be able to add the flight jacket for the motorcycle ride. I have some thoughts on the matter.

I'm envisioning pluv on day two of the decal exercise, holding tiny Tom Cruise upside down above his head and flipping him off.

Day two? More like hour two. Soooo much communicating foreign relations with those decals.

I'd say the end result was worth the effort. :)

Awesome! I rewatched Top Gun not too long ago and was trying to think of a good way to add Maverick to my JoeVerse.

Excellent job, and the helmet is definitely the highlight.
