Hound
Long-Range Reconnaissance

File Name: Sansom, Franklin K.
Birthplace: Salt Lake City, UT
Service Branch: Army
Rank (Grade): SGT (E-5)
Primary MOS: Infantryman (Long-Range Surveillance)
Secondary MOS: Animal Care Specialist

Hound spent at least three-quarters of his childhood deep in the woods, alone with the trees and the animals. He spent his days learning to follow trails and tracks that most people wouldn't see with a magnifying glass. All of his friends had four legs or wings. He's uncomfortable in civilization, no matter how rural it might be. He prefers a roll in the dirt to a shower, and roots and berries beat haute cuisine any day. Like most animals, he prefers stealth to direct action, but if he gets cornered he'll fight with everything he's got.

Training: Infantry School, Airborne School, Ranger School, Combat Tracking School, Recondo School, Long-Range Surveillance Leaders Course.

“Hound loves the wilderness, he gets real antsy any time he has to be on base. Some of the guys think he'd really rather be an animal of some kind, maybe a wolf or a wolfhound. He likes animals more than people, though he can track either of them equally well. Nothing escapes his notice. He has incredible night vision, and seems to be able to track without any visual signs whatsoever. They say he uses his nose as much as his eyes, and they call him the Sniffer when he pulls off something like that. It's kind of spooky.”

Head – Storm Shadow
Arms – Hit & Run
Torso, upper legs – Rip Cord
Waist, lower legs – Sgt. Slaughter v2 (waist modified)

Assault rifle – Marauder Inc.
Backpack – Wild Bill v2
Knife - unknown

He's proving to be very popular, which is kind of funny considering how simple a figure he is.

Shinobi-Viper
Cobra Covert Operations

This figure arose from the desire to have a ninja Viper that wasn't just a straight repaint of Storm Shadow. Since Bushido's outfit was already a teal colour and also a ninja, he was an obvious choice to draw parts from. The name was selected to differentiate it from the existing Ninja-Viper, even though this figure is really an alternate version of that figure. Using a repro Storm Shadow head also helps, since it's noticeably slimmer than the original, helping to set this figure off.

Head, waist – Storm Shadow (Black Major reproduction)
Arms, legs - Bushido
Torso – Storm Shadow v19

Subsonic rifle – Marauder Inc.
Sword – Agent Jinx v2

You've been a roll with these customs.

French team - Solid work, Diable is actually my favorite of the 3. The simple addition of camo and the green detailing to that big ben body is very effective.

Snow Cat & crew - Snow cat looks great all cleaned up. I actually should replace the decals on mine someday. Frostbite is solid, nice job painting his patch. You don't see the JvC head used much. Windchill also looks great, I like the painted details and his head looks so different with the eyes painted.

Lightfoot - Works for me, those parts go together rather well.

Scarlett - The ninja force head looks so good on the v1.5 body. Makes me wish I had picked up a swivel arm Scarlett back when I had the chance a few years ago.

British team - these 3 are all excellent. Both parts selection and paint. Very creative, well done.

Iron Dagger - Love this one, the parts go together perfectly, very cohesive design.

Viper officer - Dig the red helmet, and a another great parts combo that makes sense.

Spearhead - It's tough to make v1 look good, he's such an awkward figure, but your repaint pulls it off.

Serpentor - Love the paintjob, those colors are ideal for Serpentor.

Monkeywrench - the more muted look works, and the shirt is welcome addition.

Brazil team - Another solid team, these 3 are especially good. Hard to choose a favorite. Pegasus has a great parts combo and color scheme, Sparta is also great, I like the use of the Sonya head. Triton though also has a great parts combo the tele viper torso and psyche out arms pair up perfectly.

Fusillade -I've always had a soft spot for Crossfire for some reason. He's on my list of customs I'd like to do at some point. I'd like to try and avoid using the Big Ben parts. The Leatherneck lower body works so much better than Dial Tone's.

Shinobi Viper - Really like this one too, the Bushido arms and legs go together with the storm shadow body perfectly. Great name too.

Thanks so much. I appreciate the time you take to make figure-by-figure comments.

Hound is probably my favourite, he is very cool :) . But that Ninja Scarlett is very cool, I have a few bionic six figures, but didn't know that female looked so good as a GI Joe!

Bayonette is cool too, great name ;) .
