TBT to the first custom that made me feel like I'd made something more than mere parts-swappery. This guy dates from the early-mid 90s when I went off to the Navy and my customizing kicked into next gear. This is the relaunch PotF Zuckuss figure, maybe before the official renaming from his package labeling of 4-LOM in the vintage line; using his head (with tentacles truncated such that just the claspers show), torso, hands, boots, and knee- and thigh-pads. The COBRA Sea Slug arms fit nicely into the pre-existing Zuckuss shoulder sockets with no mods needed. The legs and rounded-bottom of the torso are from one of the Lanard Space Force figures from that early era of that company's offerings. The belt deco is from one or another relaunch PotF Vader with the ankle cuff a later addition from TPM's Maul.
I never nailed down a name or backstory for him, with vague notions of him as a rogue/former Jedi working in the dark corners of the galaxyadda yadda yadda "LASER BLAST"; but I've held on to him as that first work showing a combo of techniques adding up to make something fundamentally new that *nobody* else and the small pride that came along with him. He used to have a pair of de/active lightsabers with the deactive one clipping into this belt; but they're long lost now. This figure and the joy of building him are why I always have a compulsion to buy 4-LOM and Zuckuss figures. I always seem to be remaking this guy as new lines with new articulation formats come along.
