#89 BIOK

From DIC, this is BIOK. Years before the MCU introduced Ultron has a baddy in a computer, DIC played out the same idea with Destro's BIOK. Unlike Ultron, who was menacing, BIOK was mostly fussy, and not a decent villain.

The character first appeared as a wireframe-ish head that evolved into a bald guy by the end of the episode.

This artwork is very different from everything else I've done because it's not just artwork, it's an action figure. Sort of. The artwork is based on photos of Yul Brenner and other bald types merged into one, and than ran through one Photoshop filter after another until it looked right. This image is designed to be a printout to put on a 1:18 scale computer screen to create a custom of BIOK. On the actual custom, which is still a WIP, I had to simplify this artwork a lot.

I'm not sure who took the photos, or I'd give credit, of course. Roy Lichtenstein might have stolen from Russ Heath and not given credit, but I'll gladly say upfront that this art is based on other people's photography. And obviously I don't have the talent of either RL or RH.

#1 another one i had no idea existed.
#2 you don't have to credit to the original pictures. this is digital art .a collage at worst, but really an entirely different work of art using photos as a medium.
#2b knowing when to hit eject on those filters is an art all it's own, and you nailed it.
#3 i love the look and would get what he is with no description at all.

Cool! such an obscure character, nice reinterpretation. Thanks for expanding my joe knowledge!
