#97 Fast Blast Viper

When Hasbro released the Fast Blast Viper in 2001, it was another fumble. It wasn't a head-to-toe repaint, like Roadblock as Double Blast or Torpedo as Wet Down, but it may as well have been. It only lacked the head of HEAT Viper V1, and simply looked as if the helmet was removed revealing a mask underneath.

So, as I see it, the FBV is a just HEAT Viper who misplaced his helmet. I put the helmet back on. (Yes, you'll see this piece flipped and recycled as a HEAT Viper down the road.)

As far as the ridiculous weapon that the figure came with... it holds no appeal for me so I replaced it with a more traditional looking weapon.

Cool! I'm not.familiar with this one so I'm glad you're my introduction to this Cobra trooper.

*Update* I had a look at original and I think I like your take a whole lot better with the helmet on. Nice artwork!
