i started collecting bottle caps after the spectre posted his cargo containers made from 2 glued together. i don't drink soda and don't go anywhere these days so i have only come up with a few. some are older which look different and are slightly a different size, others are pepsi instead of coke product also slightly different. so i matched all i could.

i ended up over sanding so i switched to hot glue. bonus is it is almost impossible to glue your fingers together! after getting all the caps glued i started laying out valves, top caps, and other random bits to top them with.

ta da!

the thin green bottles are off a bandai figure w/tru ap boat wires.

Image
these almost look like droids to me, or shop vacs.
Image
the red part is off junk christmas ornament lanterns.

Image
these are some kind of sci-fi fuel cells with couplers. since i used hot glue i should be able to split the couplers into male/female if i need to.
Image
the gray bits are from some small model car bits i got from a coworker about 8 yrs ago, and the red from the christmas lanterns.

Image
my absolute favorites. gas and oxy tanks with the valve off of a tru ap boat.

mis matched gas and oxy tanks w/gray car bits ,a screw, and a removable rubber zoids? knob.

lots of fun, for almost free :) thanks spec.

Oh yes, I like these! I too glued together some bottle caps after Spectre posted versions he made. These look straight out of a sci-fi movie set! I wish I had parts similar to yours so I could build some for my planned ALIENS colony dio.

Nice use of household fodder.

Are you going to paint them?

thanks! i don't think i'll fully paint them, maybe dirty them up or paint the small bits silver/black. i wanted the black, silver, red , and green specifically to not have to paint them. i don't think the writing detracts much for background, or at least doesn't bother me.
