please tell me you are building a big brain!

How did you know haha! I guess you know my pattern. The difference is that I stopped making it halfway when I realized I could buy it. So the brain isn't intended for the last slot. I am wondering if I should even bother with the last slot at all since I have so many Time Enemies already. I donno...

For some who don't know, I have mostly recovered from partially severing my left middle fingertip in a vegetable cutting accident over a month ago. So it's taken sometime to get the nerve to touch things again. Anyway, we have a new custom to show off!

A member of the Proto-Villains Set was recently remade and replaced: Gor, King of the Terrons! I blame it entirely on the winter weather. I believe the low temperature may have caused the glue holding the torso together to become brittle. This is probably the fourth time it's broken on me after attempting to put him in poses. I wasn't having it.

So I launched Gor version 2 and decided to let my imagination run a little bit whilst keeping as close as possible to the original toy like I had before.

Original

Homage (with comparison)

This version was built using Marvel Legends Puma head, hands and feet; Marvel Legends Sentry body and epoxy putty for the various armoured details.

I chose a 6 inch body because the hip articulation is way better than the rotating hip system of the Marvel Legends BAF Green Goblin body used to build Gor v1. I used the Puma's head mainly because 1.) I always imagined Gor to be this angry dude; 2.) He's a king so went with this lion like look rather the orcish look of the original; and 3.) Puma had sharp fangs. This was something the original toy had.

He's painted to look much closer to the toy than the UK box art for the Commander Power line which was the inspiration for Gor v1. The shiny, emerald green effect was achieved by painting him from head to toe using Tamiya Chrome Silver then topping that with Tamiya Clear Green. He's leaner, shorter and full of rage and I love him.

Very cool - love that he's still huge compared to your Joes even in the smaller scale.

Glad you're healing up!

I don't know how I missed this thread. I could have sworn I'd looked at it but I don't remember seeing any of these. They're all fantastic!

Thanks! I think so too. I didn't go too nuts on the armour for this iteration as it was adding more weight the more putty I added.

Thanks! Keeping him larger than the others has always been the goal. He's depicted as being physically larger in promotional material yet is shorter than Super Joe in the toyline. I dislike inaccuracies like that.

Much appreciated! It's been on page 2 limbo for quite a while so I understand.

Awesome to read, thank you!

I wanted to wait till the end of what I have planned for a group shot but decided to do a sort of pre-group shot without background or weapons. I consider the Time Enemies complete at this stage. Look out for bios for each member in the future.

The Time Enemies Set from left to right:

Chylon, Zargonite, Captain Zargon, Darkon, Margax Shaman, Gor, The Intruder Commander, The Intruder Warrior, The Master of Time and Gargon.

Any favourites so far?

Good to see you're back!
Captain Zargon and The Intruder Warrior are my favorites.
I also love Gargon, but the all-green scheme makes him kinda boring..... I know that's what he originally looks like, but your built/effort deserves more IMO.

Yes! Rom was licensed to Palitoy back in the day late 70s to early 80s. They marketed him under the Action Man Space Ranger line of toys. It was pretty aggressive too. Rom was featured in a TV ad, brochures, a comic ad and appeared in the Panini sticker book.

Remember this guy? So. I MIGHT be reconsidering what I said about the number being final.

I opened my drawer to see the concept images I drew to get the right colours based on the shading and tinting. After some deliberation, I decided to try to finish it. I like the colours in the final image. What do you guys think?

Not so tall haha. Don't think I'll do him truly to scale but I'll get him to be close enough. Do you think the colours are ok?
