I like it, has that much needed detail to keep that version from looking too dull. I think that black base with a medium to late gray color detail is my favorite for Snake.

6/30 Dusty:
The last couple of waves of FSS were kinda hit or miss for me. A lot of them I resold. Some of them I had (IMO) better custom versions already (Blizzard, Stalker, Rampart). Some I just didn’t care about the character, and some were just utter garbage (Fast Draw).
Dusty fell in the category of “I can make that pretty easy”, so I started it. Here we are two years later, and I’m finally wrapping up a lot of lingering projects. Nothing earth shattering here, but I’m glad to finally get a lot of the upcoming figures done after so long.

As always, he can be seen on page 1, and thanks for taking the time to look.

I've got all of those same parts but mine will never look the same. Great job!

Also, I never saw that head as Dusty until now.

7/13: Retro Trooper
I passed on this guy several times. Slightly out of proportion in my eyes, I think it was the feet and hands. Something looked off about him. And he looked really plain. Cobra troopers are kinda plain in general, but as I looked at it again in Wal Mart, I noticed a enough details that were unpainted that I decided to buy one and just add black. In the end, it’s not a terrible figure. Kinda gives me an early Devils Due vibe from 20 years back.

As always, the figure is on page 1. Thanks for looking, and I appreciate the feedback. I haven’t done this much work in a couple of years, so there’s always a bit of “eh, am I still ok at this stuff” feeling. Hopefully bunch more to come here, unless I legit run out of parts.

I like that Cobra trooper! So simple but so nice. I'd thought the figure was kind of ugly, too, when I saw it in stores but your tweaks make it look good. But curse you for pointing out DD was 20 years ago. It was just a couple years ago and I'm not old!

You know how I stayed alive this long? All these years? Fear. The spectacle of fearsome acts. Somebody steals from me, I cut off his hands. He offends me, I cut out his tongue. He rises against me, I cut off his head, stick it on a pike, raise it high up so all on the streets can see. That's what preserves the order of things. Fear.

Page 1, thanks for looking.

love the butcher! dirty, gritty, and just like he should be. i like both looks a lot.

what is dnl?

top hats are hard to get right. i'd like to see the other sizes. can you cut/grind on the 3d printed stuff? the top hats i have gotten to sit right on a head were all hollowed out dangerously thin. so thin i tried to make one out of tape, but never got it. if you had 2 heads- one hatted and one hatless- you could grind one to accept a slightly smaller hat.

DNL is the dime novel legends.

I also went through dremeling some to make them fit right, and some I cracked. It’s a hard look to 3D print. It’s a good thing the actual top hat is large like it is as otherwise the figure would look a little off.

Removable hats are hard to get right. I've printed several that I glued on the head and they work for me. The Butcher though is iconic with and without the hat so I see the need for it to be removable. And luckily, Bill keeps his hair greased down to his head so the hat looks good on or off.

I'm glad I could help with the printing. I only wish I could have had a better head on hand to test fit with before sending to you. Your Bill head is perfect.
