another big back log of wip pics. some things i'm working on turned out ok, but a few i'm not sure.

i've been working on this since i got the imagenext shark in a huge lot of toys from my in laws a while ago. i know i took pics of it before, but can't remember ever posting. i had a lot of fails getting the right size tracks, and these from the arah snowmobile had just the right length. i did cut about 1/3 from the center. everything is snapped, screwed, and wired so far. i want to add some big metal teeth to the lower jaw.

hold on stinkor!
Image
Image
wait whaaat? it pops apart into an air/land/sea sled powered by the side engines( i think spec id'd them from a skeleton worrior launcher), and an escape pod/ tread ripping little thing (body from mars attacks spider).
Image

these shots were only cropped/rotated no other filters or adjustments. first 2 are hitting it with a uv light and snapping a pic when it goes off. 1st was too quick
Image
2nd was perfect
Image
the 3rd is with a steady blue light on it.
Image

more to come!

That's awesome! Feels like it came straight from the Mattel workshops, circa 1983.

thanks! i couldn't get a better compliment.

here it is with my dragon bike wip. i wanted them to be close in size.
Image
Image
Image

i have 2 of these dragon bikes going. the bikes are from spiderman and heads are from older megablok dragons and are what got me trying to make motu bikes since they reminded me of the dragon walker thing. i still need to figure out handlebars that will move with the head (up,down, side to side)

just some lego bits anchored in where the old bars/front cap were

i wasn't planning on starting any new motu figure, but these happened. surprisingly i liked stinkor the least before pics, but now i am really digging him. i have 2 head options with lots of pics to compare. i plan on sculpting on the rocket head, but i really like the sw head best right now. i'd love to hear which you like best.

under the armor.
ImageImage
right now it is held by a magnet in the armor and the thumbtack in the torso. i plan on building the armoe 360 so that might change.

merman is looking pretty good. i've been trying out heads and adding details to this head, but haven't found the right look yet. the neck armor is just a piece of tmnt shell jammed into the imagenext armor.

with some other baddies
ImageImage

man e faces got some halo legs. i might build them up at the transition. but i'm digging them so far.
Image

a couple group shots for fun
ImageImage

next up will be a couple that didn't make the cut, but might get another chance at motu or? also a small update to my dark wizard and the death dealer.

i was thinking some size variance would be cool and got the idea to make buzzoff? i just don't like how he turned out. might be cool in another realm or i might take the parts i like and re-do him.
ImageImageImage
with some other motu
ImageImageImage

this body was painted and taken apart before i got it. i think it was an ironman but ??? i was using it for a predator knight, but started trying to make clawful or whiplash with it. i like the ff head and bf neck. the thor cape fits like it was made for the neck too. i didn't get a good pic with ant motu, but he is much larger than them all. maybe he will be a dragon knight in my fantasy realm or get remade to fit motu better.
ImageImage
Image

my dark wizard got the robe from a vintage sw emperor.
Image
Image

death dealer got the skirt from the same emperor as a cape. i did the same white glue and black paint i did on his skirt, but it didn't soak in as well. different type pf material i guess. i did a lot of fitting and ended up sewing it on after i stapled it in place. i left the staple for now because i'm thinking a scabbard will ride over it. i hate soft goods while i'm working on them, but they really do look good.
Image

Image
the wizard could use a long skirt too.
Image

that's it for now. i look forward to hearing what you guys think.

Man, you've been busy! And clearly inspired.

I've got to say I prefer the Rocket head for Stinkor. Something about the cute being sinister really works.

That's a lot to take in. That sharktread is inspiring. Lots of great parts usage all around.

Buzz Off looks great with the long arms and smaller scale.

Brings some much needed size/build diversity to a MOTU line.

Also, I generally don't like soft goods on 1:18, but you are forcing me to rethink. Skeletor's hood looks amazing.

it's been too long. i'm skipping over a bunch of things that i took pics of a month ago, but they are trapped on a memory card. mostly motu tweaks, but i put all the mutu stuff to the side again to snap a pic of my pred. rescue team. i'm still in the moving parts around and such. the retro stalker legs really are nice and fit dillon perfect.

Image

it's a whole different set of problems getting pics edited on a phone , but it feels good to show something.
