I happened upon a Scarlett b&w piece on Pinterest (I think) that was labeled a Herb Trimpe piece (I did later find a version that had his signature) & since I needed a pic of Athena (Brazilian white uniformed Scarlett) I decided to see what I could do with the limits of my tablet and art program.

You had me at Trimpe.

Is it from the cover of issue #1?

My first thought was that is was from the Hot Potato bonus story, but that might have been drawn by Don Heck. Not sure.

I'm not sure, it looks like the Scarlett from Issue 1. Here's the pic with the signature.

You may have just started a great mystery.

Yes, that is what it appears to be from- but on the cover her forward legs is blocked by Stalker's forward leg.

Is the cover of GI Joe #1 a pre-computer composite? My brain is spinning.

"Is the cover of GI Joe #1 a pre-computer composite?" tune in next week ....

sounds like an episode of one of the cartoons plot!

seriously though i don't know what you meant? if the art was drawn in parts then assembled? instead of drawn as one complete piece?

sounds interesting.

I’m not sure.

Look at the loose artwork of just Scarlett. You can all of her body.

On the cover of GI Joe #1, she’s partially behind Stalker. But it looks like the SAME drawing, not a re-drawing, which wouldn’t look exactly the same.
