Thanks guys. Both helped me to figure out I already had it in the bag. Just wasn't looking at it in the right frame of my build plane. I guess when you are too close to the project you over look what is right there.

Thanks again for the help,
momaw nadon

Because it simply needed to exist, I paid an artist on Fiverr to make this Model of a robot from the movie A.P.E.X.

He did an outstanding job!

Bought some Eryone water washable resin to test out. I haven't been using my resin printers because of the hassle of cleanup with IPA so thought I'd try some of the water washable stuff out. Anyone else use either this brand or another water washable one? What are your thoughts on it?

I got the resin I ordered in Tuesday. Haven't had a chance to test it yet, so I'll report back.

I grabbed the white; I figured that was the best to test around with and be able to paint. I hope it's good resin because I like that it's also CMYK and they put the mixing ratios on their site for easy color blending.

I'm actually testing a print right now with it. Tried something earlier but the platform 'stuck' to the bed. I cleaned everything up (the water soluble part is great), releveled, and am trying again. So far, it's at least moving properly. Hopefully the model is actually adhering to the platform.

Yep. That's one of the only reasons I gave it a 2nd thought. It would save me some painting /mixing down the road. An opaque green is always appreciated.

Just finished a print. I did a terrible job with supports, so most of the print failed, but one part came out well. I like the quality of it. I'll take some pics of it as printed, then brush on some paint to bring out details and post pics of it.

I tried to print out a dragon head war hammer and a couple maces I designed, but as I said in my last post, I didn't get the supports attached properly in the slicer so only the hammer head printed properly - not the handle and not the maces. I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with the resin. It has a nice finish and seems to take detail well. It's hard to see the detail on the unpainted pics, but after a light brushing of paint, they really pop. This was printed on a stock Anycubic Photon using the Eryone water washable resin, using Eryone's recommended cure settings.

Unpainted If I had a better camera, I could probably get some good pics, but I'm using my phone which just can't grab the detail of the unpainted model:

Painted (I didn't paint it, so much as gave it a thorough drybrush covering):

You can see the scales and eye of my design:

Headshot from slightly above. I'm really pleased with how it holds the detail:

EDIT: And the 'water washable' part is very accurate. I rinsed the head under water and it was clean in no time. I got some on my hand and unlike standard resin that's sticky and tough to get off even with IPA, it washed right off in soapy water. Cleaning the resin vat and build plate was also fast and easy.

I just got a Photon Zero. They're only 99 dollars for the next 6 days. I recommend anyone on the fence to jump on this deal. https://www.anycubic.com/collections/anycubic-photon-3d-printers/products/anycubic-photon-zero

I have been printing for a while now and to my surprise my printer still shocks me in what its capable of doing. I totally was off on dimensions for an organic model, which I got lost in making it look right over function I guess. Though when I printed it again not knowing it would not work, I had some pieces that were super thin. I would say they were about the thickness of a contact. Too bad they didn't survive the cleaning, as it was worse than wet tissue paper. I only need some resin that can hold up now knowing that it can be printed that thin if I ever require something that thin.
