Here is a group name list that I pulled from a post on another board

TOP ROW (left to right)
Lilian Gaul
Sgt. Fury
Steeler
Spook

BOTTOM ROW (left to right)
Louie Louie
Jelly
Bri Jo

Also figured we outfit these with almost all Marauder, Inc. weapons. Marauder's MAC-10 is perfect, also he has a great machine gun for Steeler. The shotgun be 25th Flints/VvV Destro and the grenade launcher could either be a BBi (I have one to donate) or a VvV Gung-Ho

Anyone notice how much "Louie Louie" looks like Vietnam LRRP Storm Shadow?

Lastly, I can do water slide decals for all the figures if needed.

On the custom I had started for Louie Louie, I was using that SS head with a Falcon torso ;)

Nice work on the logo by the way.

Not sure about that torso for him. The pictures to me look more like a t-shirt with LBE straps over them.

Do we have a better picture of the team?

Best picture we have at the moment. I took the one from CJack and bumped up the resolution.

I'll drop what I have back in this folder so we can look off of the others:

I see why I was thinking of using the Falcon torso for Louie Louie. To me it looked like he had a bandana tied around his neck and I was going to sand down the shirt under it all. ;)

For the weapons, I say we go with Marauder as much as possible

1. MAC-10 - Marauder
Image

2. M79 Grenade- 25th Gung Ho or BBi
Image

3. M60 w/handle- Marauder
Image

4. Shotgun- 25th Flint, 25th Falcon, Spytroops Destro
Image

5. .45 Pistol- Marauder
Image

6. Knife/Bayonet-

7. H&K Sniper G3 SG/1-

May not even need knives. The H&K sniper looks familiar, but having trouble placing it.

And how far are we going to go for unification of parts? Same feet, same paints, etc. We want these to look better than good.

i would recommend we do as much as possible to unify the look of the figures as much as possible, while still having them come from different customizers with different styles and techniques -

i know that sounds like a cop-out, but i don't think we should force participants to buy a particular brand of paint, or chase some obscure or pricey fodder if we don't have to --

hopefully, by having one photographer take the submission photos, we will gain some uniformity there, as long as we're all in the ballpark with our figs --

AND, if people would PM ME YOUR CLAIMS! we could get some early wips shown, color tests, etc.,

Random thought. What if we built these all off of 1982-1983 parts almost as a "What If" Fury Force was made instead of GI Joe

Also, what do people think of realistic colors vs comic book colors?

First, I think we should try to be faithful to the designs of the figures. Using 82-83 parts wouldn't give you figures that look like those drawings.

Second, real military coloring. Olive drab, black, maybe some woodland camo.

I agree. I'd suggest that as everyone starts piecing figs together we should post part combos. That way if we can get some continuity great, though not every figure has that option.

As for colors, I agree. It would be great to use the same paints. I LOVE Krylon camo paints. I definitely vote for these to use as base colors. I usually use Plaid browns and blacks, but would pick up some Testors or Tamiya.

Thoughts?

I normally use Krylon paints as well so I'm all for that.

Post subject:  Re: Fury Force reference stuff

It's funny, the original Fury Force concept would seem to lend itself more to the SHEILD style colors - black and white. But the sketches dont' echo that feeling at all. They actually look very "old school Sgt Fury." I'm all for going with a more unified spray paint color...although I'm not sure that all of them woudl have been the same color. In a comic, they probabyl would have tried to make each one look as different as possible. Perhaps one is in tan or has camo or something. Just a thought. Each seems to have a pretty destinctive head and torso, though, so that may have been how they plan to make them look different (instead of color).

Post subject:  Re: Fury Force reference stuff

I think once we started piecing them together we will be able to tell what colors we should use. If everyone looks too similar, then different colors could work.

Btw, are we leaning towards removable gear/straps, or molded on gear/straps? Or are we looking at personal preference here?
