What are some of the larger 12"+ "figures" out there with decent articulation. Preferably better than just some swivel joints? Especially monsters?

There's the more recent Rancor sculpt from Star Wars, and a deluxe Tree Beard from LOTR. I've looked at the Cave Trolls but those look pretty static. I know I'm not going to find anything with complete "joe" articulation, but I'm just trying to find some large toys with bigger ball joints in the shoulders, arms or legs.

For reasons.

I picked up the extending Groot figure on clearance. The packaging design was awesome.

Seek out the 12" Hulk for customs. I dunno what you'd do for head fodder, but they'll do for 'big-ass monsta' fodder, imho.

The 4H Trolls are static from the swivel waist down, but the LotR Trolls had ball hips as well. I bashed one of them onto a Hulk back in the day to get the full artic.

Thanks guys. Arkham Deluxe Clayface also looks very promising, but is pretty pricey.

The Marvel Icons line from a few years back, especially Venom and Beast, would probably work well.

I have the 10 inch Hulk that is wearing what looks like a leather wrap and a necklace of dragon and other skulls. I got him long ago to either add huge tusks, or a single forehead horn for a large green Hill Giant. The Hasbro large Frost Giant I got as a gift from Taliesin Crow. THAT is one nice giant. The larger figure White Walkers are very nice for a proper Ice Giant. Certainly better than the Thor movie ones.

McFarlane did a 12" Malbolgia that I've had my eye on. There was a 12" Doctor Manhattan on Amazon a while ago fully pose-able. Anything from the McFarlane Spawn: Dark Ages run will look nice. They've got a centaur knight, some other tidbits. There was even two Predator figures done 12"; regular and clear/GITD.

The best of the above Dragons were the special edition ones. The half buried dragon in lava. The Draco-lich with flaming mane. The wise dragon with the crystal staff on top of a cavern precipice. King Draako himself, holding a large egg. The pinnacle of the special editions of course was the Hydra Dragon.

The action figure archive site should also have a growing selection of large figures meant to complement our scale.
