I am customizing a Mudbuster. My first vehicle job. I am taking it apart, removing stickers. My question is, Is there an easy way to remove the tires on a split peg. The rear axle is rather flimsy and I don't want to damage the plastic. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

I hit it with heat first. A hair dryer or heat gun will do the trick. You just want to soften the plastic a little so it isn't so rigid/brittle. If you see the plastic starting to get shiny, STOP. As soon as it gets that glossy all over look it is about to melt on you. You really shouldn't have to blast it with the hot hair for longer than 20 second bursts. Then use some pliers to pinch the split peg together and poke it back out of the wheel well. Good luck! :like:
