an idea i had while pitching old stuff that "builds" off the household item gp, and also my idea for a found item scavenger hunt that never took form.

*cut paste edit from hhgp
The premise of this group project would be to use an old tv/vcr/dvd/stereo/multi function remote to base a custom around. You couldn't just stick a figure on a remote or remote in a custom Flint's hand. The remote needs to be modified/customized/altered ,and would have to be the focal point of the custom project.

Ever thought a tv remote would make for a cool space ship?
Ever think the tv remote buttons would make for a great control panel?
Ever think that tv remote would make a pretty decent jet ski?
Ever think that tv remote would make for an awesome Dreadnok atv?

Figures, vehicles, playsets, and accessories for special wielders of those accessories.

if this works and people respond well a found item #2,3,4 etc. might continue. maybe even the winner of a poll could choose the next found item.

I still have a cassette tape boom box I got in the 80s (still works). It's about 15 inches wide by 4 inches deep by 5-6 inches tall.

I used to use that as the communications panel of the cartoon GIJOE Headquarters. The clear cassette tray was a television/computer screen. The entire boom box I imagined was one of those 60s/70s room size NASA style computer stations. The knobs were the old school computer tapes spinning around to provide data, the AM/FM band at the top was a readout area for time zones, etc.

Basically just used the entire boom box as a giant computer console.

In our province, we still use a cassette tape since the technology there isn't yet modern. But this sounds fun! Kirks Renovations Federal Way

I don't know if what I have in my grandmother's house will fit into this, but we have an old iron for ironing clothes. It works by putting charcoal inside, lit it up, and using a banana leaf underneath it. That's what they previously use when electricity is not yet common those days.

that would be something if you made a custom using that! but it wouldn't go in this challenge.
