Here's what I have. I need to sand his flattop down some to fit the beret on better. I'll make the holster straps either sculpted on or made from gear already out there.

Like the upper half, but still not sold on the legs. The reference picture doesn't have pockets on the lower legs, nor does it have a flashlight on the right thigh. The reference picture list his boots as "jump boots", which seem to be taller than the boots chosen.

I'm trying to find boots that are taller, but from what I'm seeing these are the tallest I could find. Any others you think would work?
I was just going to sand down the pockets and flashlight to get them to work.

I love the General Hawk TBC feet. They came on TBC General Hawk, General Tomahawk, and the OG13 comic pack figures.

The boots on the left came up when I did a google search for "jump boots"

I swapped out his legs and I'm working on his webgear so hopefully will have more updated for tomorrow's 10/10 update.

Have the OD painted up. Just need to brush on seal the skirt section to paint it to match. need to drop the pistol holster down some as it sits too high up.
Was a pain trying to match up weapons for the gear. The knife alone is cobbled from two kives. heh

Looking good. What color are you planning on painting his hair? Brown like Nick Fury? Gray streaks?

Also, you going green beret or black beret?

Dark brown. Not sure if I'll do streaks or not. If I do, it'll be suttle.

There's a first time for everything, I guess.

:shifty:

Matt,
Not sure on the beret color. I think the black would stand out more with most of him already being in green.

Here's what I found:
Wiki wrote:
US Army

Army Special Forces with Green Berets
Army Ranger with tan beret
Army Airborne Soldier with Maroon beretBerets were originally worn by elite forces in the United States Army. In 2001, the United States Army adopted the black beret as standard headgear army-wide, a controversial decision because it was previously reserved for the Rangers.[12] United States Army berets now use the following distinctive colors:

Rifle green — Special Forces Groups, John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School
Tan — 75th Ranger Regiment, Ranger Training Brigade
Maroon — Airborne units (the maroon beret is an organizational item, so it is worn by all assigned soldiers whether airborne-qualified or not)
Black — All other Army units
Special Forces, Ranger, and Airborne unit berets sport distinctive organizational flashes. All other units use a standard pale blue flash bordered with 13 white stars. Officers wear their rank insignia within the flash, while enlisted ranks wear their distinctive unit insignia.

Thoughts?

This is a tough one. The wiki entry is talking about current beret trends, but this figure all depends on what era we place him. If we place him in 1981 like the drawing suggest, then we'll have to look at that era's beret colors

It almost looks like the drawing says "Green Beret", but it is so hard to tell. It almost looks like 'Slim Beret".

For the Flash, it looks like it says "Unit Crest Beret Flash"

However, when I googled Green Berets, it looks like some have black berets. I did find this pic, which is cool cause it looks like Fury :D. Looks like a dark hunter-like green, which would look sharp IMO

1981 would make it a green beret. During that era, the berets were:

Red- Airborne
Green- Special Forces
Black- Rangers

It makes since Fury would be a Green beret with Special Forces and Ranger tabs on his left shoulder.
