Today's new profile is the Black Major Viper Pilot:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... pilot.html

This was a totally random selection of a figure. But, is one on which many people are sure to have...opinions. I'm grateful for this figure and it in no way detracts from my original Viper Pilot. In fact, it makes the original even better.

Today's new profile is the Funskool Croc Master:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... aster.html

Croc Master is the only 1987 Cobra I have ever really liked. And, this Funskool version used to be a cheap way to get a complete one.

Today's new profile is the 1985 Catalog:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... talog.html

These inserts were all of our introduction to each year's new toys. Opening one for the first time was a feast of surprises and awesome toys.

What are your memories of the catalogs?

Today's new profile is the 1982 MMS:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... ystem.html

As toys go, this one isn't great. But, it's one of the line's iconic pieces and isn't terribly expensive...yet.

Today's new profile is the 2002 Gift Set Stormshadow figure:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... hadow.html

Collectors quickly turned this figure into a Red Ninja before the limitations of the mold really started to shine through.

Today's new profile is the Sgt. Savage P-40 Warhawk:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... avage.html

The Sgt. Savage line was a retail disaster. But, in the mid 1990's, there wasn't much to buy at retail and I ended up with this plane.

The Warhawk is one of those GI Joe items I fluctuate on. So much potential and yet still lacking in some aspects. If this had been made for the ARAH line, I probably would have owned 3 by this point. But the scale being off for vintage figures and in comparison to other vehicles the one I had was enough. Then 21st Century XD came along and really made it look like a kid's toy by comparison. The fact GI Joe has ben pushed more and more into a Call of Duty like next gen warfighter universe, then a P-40 feels more and more like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Today's new profile is the 2001 Double Blast:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... blast.html

There is no need for this new character, but there was a tremendous need for the V1 Roadblock mold to return. As such, Double Blast isn't a bad figure to own, but he's better seen as a Roadblock repaint than a new character.

Today's new profile is the 2006 Viper from the Viper Pit set:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... r-pit.html

Visually, this figure is great. But, the poor quality of these figures greatly limit their usage.

Today's new profile is the Black Major Cobra De Aco:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... rsion.html

The De Aco isn't a great figure. But, his color scheme is very reminiscent of BATs which debuted the same year.

Today's new profile is the 1993 Barricade figure:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... icade.html

While this isn't the best version of the character, there's an innocent charm in a figure that was designed to be an eye catching children's toy.

Today's new profile is the 2004 Anti Venom Duke figure:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... -duke.html

Poor arms and a painted head kind of make this guy a dud. Which is too bad since we never really got a good repaint of the original Duke mold.

Today's new profile is the Terror on the Tundra Mail Away promotion:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... promo.html

You wonder why you didn't mail away for more figures back then. But, then you see the prices and remember why!

Today's new profile is the 2005 Crimson Firefly figure:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... refly.html

At the time, this figure was not well liked. But, 15 years later, he's held up a lot better than many of his contemporaries.

Today's new profile is the thin green stripe variant of the 1984 Recondo figure:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... riant.html

Really, I just wanted to look at Recondo again because he's a great figure. These slight variants are just a fun way to collect more of him.
