Man, lots of awesome stuff this month. I've been looking over these for the past week or so. Thanks for sharing this, I think I might have to tackle a modern take on Knock Out.

Thought with that codename, I'm tempted to make it woman...

European Force/MyGal French Knock Offs:

Knock offs are only as good as their source material. So, these are pretty strong.

I remember seeing mention of them on YoJoe back in the day, but I never went beyond that cursory look. Then HypnoHustler started submitting all fo this entries for the Knock-Offs Group Project and it was like finding out about Action Force for the first time. There is a whole world out there of off shoots and are a customizer's gold mine.

It's tough to see as Firefly, but still a good figure.

Today's profile is the 1988 Mean Dog. I sold mine to General Hawk back in 2001 and have regretted it since. But, I've got it back now and it's as great as I remembered:

This week is the 2001 Leatherneck figure:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... rneck.html

Lost in the sea of olive drab banality of 2001 was a poorly received Leatherneck figure. 15 years later, though, this figure holds up a little better than others of his time.

I was on vacation earlier in the week. So, the post was published on Tuesday, but I'm only getting to the notifications today.

But, this week I feature the spectacularly Funskool Tripwire figure from India:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... pwire.html

He's a good figure and one of those oddities that, were he released in the early 90's, would command big bucks.

This week is the obscure and oddly colored 2005 Thrasher figure:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... -pack.html

Thrasher's not a character that I'm overly enthralled with. And, this figure isn't great. Hard to believe we got two versions of him in the 2000's but didn't get a Tele Viper, Airborne or Doc figure.

Today I look at the T'Jbang figure:

Ninja Force is not Joe's finest moment. But, it's my current collecting focus since I've ignored them for so long.

Today I look at the Lobisomem or, the Brazilian Cobra Werewolf. Sounds awesome right? Unfortunately, the figure lacks any Cobra markings and, at his core, is a barely repainted 1985 Snake Eyes. That's too bad as the character has potential and could have been a nice, new, Cobra villain to find in Brazil.

But, if the figure had a Cobra sigil, he would cost $300 and probably appeared in a convention set or two. But, he didn't. So, really, this is just a Snake Eyes variant for us obsessed international collectors to track down.

How Hasbro could have missed making a Cobra blue V1 Stormshadow in the 2000's remains one of the great mysteries. Fortunately, Black Major recreated the mold and has filled the gap:

This week I look at something a little different: the 1987 Chilling Events are About to Unfold mail away offer. It was sent by Hasbro directly to kids who had ordered prior mail aways and is full of great art and odd prices:

I always take the promotional material fro granted but that was a fun read and an interesting look at something I don't even remember receiving.
