Lanard "Star Troopers" alien bugs and parasite review:

Lanard's "Star Troooers" line is FINALLY getting a wide release in the United States after being available overseas for the last 2 years.

The items I am about to review are just part of a larger set that also contains 2 figures, a small vehicle and accessories, but I only wanted the bugs.

The bugs are quite nicely sized and scale well against 4" figures. They are made of a nice, heavy vinyl and have really nice sculpts full of all kinds of unique textures. They only feature 2 points of articulation each though.

The more insictile red and tan one features hinged front arms. The caterpillar-like green one features swivel claw arms. Both creatures have tight paint apps with the metallic eyes being particularly striking. While these releases are not nearly as vibrantly colored as their European releases, they are still great additions to any alien menagerie.

The "parasite" is basically a solid vinyl bug head that fits over most 3.75"/4" figures' heads to show that they are under alien control. It is made of a much more flexible vinyl than the larger figures and features many different types of sculpted details and 2 different paint applications (metallic eyes would have been appreciated here as well).

There is still one more bug in this size that I do not have yet along with three more parasites and a massive rhino-like bug that completes the series, hopefully they will be easy to find stateside in the very near future.

That is not a good sign. They have locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Maine that I know for sure. But they are kind of like Ollies, where they get what nobody else wants.

by Lanardolicious

Ocean State Job Lots deals in Reallocated and overstock, same as Ollies, just up towards Rhode Island, NJ, and in surroundings states in the NorthEast. The first wave of Star Troopers was test marketed outside of the United States, and saw a soft presence through a reallocated shipment that was originally earmarked for Australia, due to a warehouse fire that shipment was sold through buyback to liquidation and Ollies had some international battle packs, as did calendar stores for overstock.

Wave 2 has been planned out for Global distribution. Wave 2 consists of several all new Star Troopers sets, as well as sets seen in waves 1 and 1.5. The main difference will be that wave 2 will be done in White, Black, and Red. A Youtube video will be up over at https://www.youtube.com/@OFFICIALLANARDTOYNEWS For everyone to see the updated Star Troopers items. A few previews can be found on the Instagram page. https://linktr.ee/TheCorpsUniverse

That bottom jeep and the missile launcher atop it have been in circulation for decades.

by DarkJedi

I saw those last Saturday at my local Ollie's.

On that Strike vehicle jeep, NO it hasn't been in circulation for decades, that jeep was first introduced in the Total Soldier V2 assortment. Right after the first Flying Fortress was introduced. Its rocket launcher was introduced earlier though.

the first response and strike vehicle selection hit Ollie's. These will hit other markets, but this selection was from a retail store chain that cancelled its order.

So Ollie's again saves the day for many Lanard fans!

It is date stamped 2012. Skull Island didn't come out until 2017. So it is older than that. I guess the more accurate timeline is that the design isn't decadeS old. Just a single decade old at this point. Almost retro, if you will.
