It all started out in the bulletin board section on The Bivouac as a rough idea that has evolved into what promises to be a living work that incorporates many of the talented GI Joe customizers on the web. Basically, every few months a new idea will be presented with a few basic guidelines. Those wishing to participate are invited to go wild with their imagination and contribute an image of their creation to be featured side by side with the other works the project inspires.

Here are some basic things to keep in mind if you want to join in on the fun.

• Unless otherwise stated in the guidelines of a specific project, there's a two custom limit on what you can contribute to each session.
• Check out the site's message board. Chances are, there will be a specific area created to discuss the project. That's also where you can state your intended custom, should the current project call for it.
• Each project will list additional rules for submission. Check in the project section to see what they are before beginning your custom figure.
• When you're ready to send it in, email your bio and figure to an email address that will be posted on the board about a week before the due date.
