ROLLBAR is a walking attitude problem. He's mean, rude, ill-mannered - and those are his good points. His problem is that he can't stand still for more than two minutes without losing his temper at someone or something. He doesn't have a lot of use for military discipline (as noted by his garish-even-for-the Joe-Team uniform), but enlisted in the Army in the hopes of controlling some of his pent-up enery and finding an outlet for his one true passion -- vehicles. Rollbar has, prior to jonnng the Joe Team, had brief careers as both a NASCAR race car driver and as a trucker. In both cases, he was simply too undisciplined to continue. Realizing that his lack of self-discipline might cost him the chance to get behind the wheel in the future, he enlisted, and found that his vehicle skills were enough to get him posted to the Joe Team. As for his personal behavior -- well, there's no tougher team than the Joes. If they can't whip him into shape, no one can.

From General Hawk's personal files: "Sometimes I'd like to shoot him if it weren't for the paperwork involved. The funny thing is, he doesn't look all that psychotic, but if you cross him, which doesn't take much, you're in serious trouble. Fortunately, given our ongoing conflict with Cobra, the Joes probably see more real combat action than a lot of military divisions, and Rollbar will take any chance to vent his aggressions against hapless Cobras over his fellow Joes any day. And he can drive anything through anything. I've seen him take motorcycles, Jeeps, tanks, and even some of our experimental stuff that tends to be classification through the nastiest battlefields. Rollbar is gradually learning teamwork. I think he respects us -- but he'll never admit it."
