In order to better capture the additional height of Destro I built up the torso with radiator repair. I also wanted to add height to the lower legs. This was accomplished by piecing together a Grunt V1 upper portion of the lower leg and the boots from Rock Viper V1. The gap was filled in with radiator repair and the boot fold was created with plastic string. I wanted to also capture a specific look for Destro, I wanted him to be a general, a leader of men. I also wanted this version to have a helmet that could be removed. Because of the issues of the original helmet's size and the fact that it covered his neck caused a problem. I was able to conquer this problem by removing the small nubs on the ball at the base of the Destro V2 head. After doing this I sanded the ball down until it would pop in and out of the torso and still hold a pose. I also did this same thing with the Chuckles V1 head. The end result was a head that could be popped in and out. I also wanted the cape to be plastic, to better fit the overall look of the figure, I didn't really care for the cloth one. This was done by stringing copper wire on the back side of the cape to make it hold a pose that followed the curve of the figure's back. I then used a piece of a twist tie to make a post to push down into the hole from the original cloth cape. I also wanted to keep the look of the original by having something on his wrist. I added a small BBi accessory to the left wrist to capture this. I wanted Destro to have a massive pistol that was basically a small-bore rifle that did not have a stock and a shortened barrel. With some modifications the Tunnel Rat V4 was perfect for this. I shortened it, and removed the exisiting stock. I then used a 1/16th drill bit and drilled a hole into the back of the pistol grip to place the stock. I then was faced with finding a holster large enough to hold the pistol. Luckily I had an Army of Darkness one and with a little work I had a functional holster. It can not be easily seen by the photos, but the back of the holster can actually hold the stock. I then tackled the Scottish Sword. I added a real chain to both the empty scabbard and the one with the sword hilt on it. I used the other sword hilt and a sword that I got from Good to Go Customs to create the Scottish sword. I used two more J shaped pieces of plastic tie for the hooks to hold the chain. I chose the original colors for Destro because I thought he looked best in black, with silver & red highlights.
