EELs are Cobra's answer to Special Operations forces like the Navy SEALs. They are trained to fight in all conditions but they excel at underwater operations.

When the zombies rose a new threat formed, underwater hordes. Unable to drown they slog their way along the ocean's floor until they stumble upon a beach or harbor.

Seeing as how valuable EELs are to Cobra, Cobra Commander ordered that a new BAT be created. Since a BAT for water operations was already in the works it became a matter of programming. Now every EEL team is accompanied by 1-2 of these large imposing BAT EELs, known as BATTLES.
