Hammer was created as the driver of the '91 Brawler, an underrated vehicle that should have included a driver, and if released just a few years earlier, would have. While the vehicle isn't perfect, it's one of those toys I really enjoy and had wanted to make a dedicated driver for a while now.

Hammer is a figure that had been pieced together for years as part of a planned Rapid Deployment Force project (still in the works). After reevaluating the RDF plan and roster, several of the planned WIP's found their way back into fodder bins, but this figure in particular had been set aside to do something else with. As I began planning a series of vehicle drivers, I came across this figure and knew that with the right paint scheme, he would be perfect for operating the Brawler.
The armored chest would protect his torso from small arms fire as he's relatively exposed in both the drivers seat and gun turret. Plus the padding on his legs would protect him from rough terrain.
