Leatherneck is a cool character, I must like him since this is the 7th custom of him that I've made, and still have two more pieced together. For some reason the original figure always left me unimpressed; I think it was his arms, which I always seem to find badly discolored.

The idea behind this figure was to incorporate him into a later assortment of figures, in this case 1988, where he fits well with the Sgt Slaughter released that year and a custom Gung-ho, plus he can help man the Warthog. Instead of a complete overhaul, I wanted to retain the look and feel of the original while updating him slightly.
