Head: GTG "Shogee" head
Body and helmet: Crimson Shadow Guard
Backpack: Funskool Zartan
Pistol: JvC Shipwreck
Combat knife: GTG "Kombat Knife"
AK-74: Lanard Corps!

Hasbro's idea for the Plague was pretty good in concept, but in execution it left me rather unimpressed. Two Snake Eyes repaints with new heads, and a leader figure that looked more like a muscled enforcer than a leader.
So I decided to take the concept, and make it my own.

Most members of the Plague are easy to make. Skullbuster's a member, and others can just be color variations of various Vipers.

For the leader, I decided on the lone Crimson Shadow Guard of my collection. With his black garb, the name Phantom was an obvious one.
I felt for a touch of uniqueness, I decided to go with a new head under that helmet. GoodToGoCustom's "Shogee" head fit the bill perfectly. Despite being made to fit in new sculpt bodies, it worked quite well in a Crimson Guard's body, and the helmet fit perfectly over it.

Much like my other Plague members, I decided to give Phantom some unique accessories. Funskool Zartan's backpack seemed like a good choice, the weapon slots can hold a silenced pistol and a combat knife quite well. I also went with a "high-tech" AK-74 from the Lanard line, to make him seem like he's worthy of top-of-the-line weaponry too expensive for any old troop.

The back-story for him is interesting, I think. As an Asian-American, he was always pushed by his father to excel academically and stay out of trouble. Out of fear, he worked hard at school, but out of rebellious instinct, he also fought a lot. He never took up martial arts and instead turned into a mean street brawler. He became a success as an adult, but was bored with the quiet life. Cobra provided him the thrills he wanted, and he quickly made it up to the ranks of the Crimson Guard, only to be sent undercover back in America.

Once again stuck in a quiet life, he began fighting in illegal cage matches in the underground. Once word reached him that the Plague was being formed, he dyed the CG costume in his closet to black, left his post and returned to Cobra Island without notice, sneaking and fighting his way to Cobra Commander to volunteer for the team. Cobra Commander was so impressed; he gave him the position of leader without hesitation.
