Scaron is, simply put, one of the most cunning politicians Cobra Island has ever seen. Without ever really having to do anything, he has become one of the most influential power brokers within the new Cobra regime.
Scaron was a Silicon Valley golden boy in the early 1990s. He conned numerous venture capital firms to invest lavish amounts of money into his shell companies. He used this money to fund a lavish lifestyle and was always able to skip out of the old venture just before the house of cards crumbled. Eventually, though, his luck ran out. Scaron's last sham company was actually set up with funds from Federal authorities. After only a few short months, they law came calling and Scaron barely managed to escape the United States. This time, though, none of his money made it with him.
Completely destitute and facing a decades long prison term in the U.S., Scaron took the only honest job he's ever had and worked as a crewman on a supply ship headed for Cobra Island. Once he landed there, he joined Cobra and quickly distinguished himself as a likable conniver who fit in all too well with the legions of backstabbers who called Cobra Island home.
Scaron's natural intelligence earned him promotion into the Officer Training Program. Here, he quickly established alliances with well-connected Cobra officials and firmly hitched his career onto the back of the rising star of the Cobra political climate. When this man became Cobra Commander, Scaron found himself as one of the advisors closest to the inner workings of Cobra.
Scaron, though, wasn't satisfied. While he had the Commander's ear, he was also insanely jealous of the success being enjoyed by Ramen in South America. Scaron successfully wormed his way into that operation by having the Commander name him the official Liaison to the Command over the South American operations. This gave Scaron the power to demand information on all South American directives and command decisions. Naturally, this enraged the South American commanders who plotted their revenge....
Scaron has never actually fought a battle in his life. While he is well-versed in the theory of warfare and has undergone extensive classroom training in hand to hand combat, he has never had to actually face an enemy. Most who encounter him think him soft and have little fear that Scaron would quickly be defeated by any opponent with even the slightest bit of combat experience. This, though, has not diminshed his star among the corpulent establishment on Cobra Island. They find Scaron's forays into South America fascinating and resent his close relationship with the Commander. Most acknowledge that Scaron will likely, one day, be in direct line for the Commandership; as long as no one takes him out before then.
Scaron used to wear a ceremonial Crimson uniform. However, after the Crimson Guard Rebellion, he switched to a black version of the same threads. This black uniform was reserved only for Cobra Officers who reported directly the Commander and Scaron wears it with pride.
There aren't many who trust, or even personally like, Scaron. However, they respect and fear his power. He is highly influential in the current Cobra administration and he isn't afraid to use his power to crush his adversaries. There are many unmarked graves on Cobra Island that hold the grisly remains of the rampant political infighting that is the hallmark of the old Cobra establishment. It is unknown how many of them Scaron has personally had filled.
