I liked the Link character when it was introduced but could not wrap my head around a combat veterinarian. So I used his martial arts background and transformed him into the medic for the Ninja Force.

Lincoln Talbot was recruited from the Navy into GI Joe. With a background in veterinarian medicine, he had a hard time fitting in with GI Joe and was on his way out when a new assignment came his way. He was offered a chance to train with the GI Joe medics and learn the skills of a combat medic. He found that in an emergency situation, his talents with animals transferred over to human patients. After honing his new craft he was offered a place with the hostage rescue team, Ninja Force. In his new assignment, Link serves as the team's medic and is able to provide immediate care to any victims that are rescued from the hands of terrorists.
