In the IDW Comics, Mad Monk joined COBRA after being dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Army.

Builders note: The genesis of this custom was from seeing the cape in Rodimus' store. I also figured I could squeak by using a Nick Fury body, instead of a more comic-accurate one like a Crimson Guard, (the black one was not available when I created the figure) but the real driving factor of getting this WIP finished was to try to use MTF parts in the build. In this case they worked flawlessly with a boil and pop of the knee joint.
