Character:

Muton was a Red Shadows robot, a repaint of the Action Force old-timey diver figure with a few new helmet parts. It looked ridiculous.

Design:

Not only have I continued the ridiculousness, but I've embraced it. If I were to cast Muton using any actor from any time, it would be Tor Johnson of Plan 9 From Outer Space. The goal of the parts was to make Muton appear intimidating but oafish like, say, Tor Johnson. Using the large Imaginext hands and feet help make the round head a little smaller than it really is.

With some of my recent figures using low-POA count figures I've added articulation. But here, there's just no point. Chubby Muton probably wouldn't use his joints, even if they worked. This robot is all about lounging, binge watching Netflix, and pounding down whatever it is that evil robots eat.

Based on the Palitoy action figure.

Sculpting & Modifying:

The head is an Imaginext mace with a Playmobil candleholder glued to it. The hands and feet were chopped off and replaced with Imaginext ones to get the oversized look.
