Character:

One of the last 3 EF customs I have to make of the unproduced wave, Rebel would have been a machine gunner if Mego hadn't folded. The other possible names were "Reb", "Dixie", and "Stonewall".

Design:

Loosely based on the design done by Paul Kirchner. The biggest "keep" were the knee-covering boots, which the Serpentor legs provided. The rest of the parts are built around the legs. I've used the Destro/Serpentor arms combo before, and they parts will not stay together, so the elbows are glued in a fix position to hold the machine gun.

Colors & Paint:

Using the same camouflage as the rest of my other EF customs, in which tan/orange/yellow replaced metallic gold.

Sculpting & Modifying:

Another New Sculpt front/back that was too short, here corrected by spacing it high and filling/sculpting the midriff with epoxy. The rolled-up sleeves are sculpted with tape. Epoxy also builds up the inner thighs, thigh screw insets and pin holes, as well as the neck. The head is locked in position, but was a good trade-off to build up the neck.

The arms couldn't really hold the machine gun correctly, even after the handle was added to the rear. To correct the grip, the right hand was cut off and repositioned at an angle.

The machine gun, I think, came from a late New Sculpt vehicle and was a snap-on piece. Not sure about that. The figure couldn't hold it, though, so I added a handle to the back. The handle came from a knockoff rifle.

Thanks for looking.
