1987 Gung-Ho

This figure is one of my all time favorites. Partly because it's surprising it was ever made in the first place. But also because it's one of just four Joes to survive my childhood.
And yeah, this barely counts as a custom, but I think it's a great example of a little paint going a long way.
Beyond just patching him up, I painted the piping on his shoulders red, fully painted the sword and sheath, and made the rest of the buttons gold. I also paint-matched the dark blue plastic and used that to tidy up where his gloves meet his sleeves and to better pick out his medals.
