I loved Automan when I was a kid. I thought the rotoscoping special effects were amazing. I could not get enough of the car and the helicopter. Of course, I was too young to follow the actual stories. Even today, I love Automan enough to get the complete series on DVD.
I knew that when I was ready to make my version of Automan using Marauders Task Force parts, it was not going to be easy. I took all black parts and used a splatter technique to give him a star-field look. Then I painstakingly bordered all parts in a sky blue. Much gnashing of teeth and many hand cramps followed.
