1983 is my favorite year of G.I.Joe. I was 100% into G.I.Joe that year. All the toys were amazing, I was at the perfect age.
My all-time favorite issue of the comic book is #11, the "Pipeline Ploy". That issue introduced a lot of the '83 figures: Airborne, Snow Job, Gung Ho, Wild Bill, and Doc...the bullet-stoppers.
Admittedly, the Doc figure was a little bland, being all khaki beige, but I liked his design. He had a unique helmet with pill bottles on the sides. He had unbloused pants over bulky boots and he had that amazing stretcher. Doc is a great all-around figure.
