All Marauders Task Force Parts

This version of Storm Shadow has, arguably, become the second most popular version of the character. Large areas of black have been added to the figure's outfit which, up til now, had been almost totally white. 1992 saw the origin of a new sub-team, the Ninja Force (was Cobra's band of ninja baddies ALSO called Ninja Force?) Inaugural team members were T'JBang, Nunchuk, Dojo and leading the team was none other than Storm Shadow. 1993 would see the addition of Banzai, Bushido, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, and T'Gin-Zu (who was billed as the greatest student of Storm Shadow's and, presumably, his protege...since there was never a Hasbro figure of Cobra Commander's son Billy). Kudos to Hasbro for not making Storm Shadow meekly and submissively give up leadership of Ninja Force once Snake Eyes joined the ranks. It's refreshing to see Storm Shadow not being second banana for once.
Anyway, this figure was a bit of a jigsaw puzzle for me. I have an absolutely lizard-brain hatred of painting joints on figures. Paint rub makes me white hot with anger. Keeping that in mind, I needed to keep any figure joints factory colors. Having Storm Shadow wear white coming down from his head but also coming up from his feet was a challenge to copy.
His head and torso could be black, but his upper arms needed to be factory white to avoid any paint rub in the shoulder joints. So I had to paint the neck and clavicle area white to match the white shoulders, but had to paint the lower bicep area black to match the black forearms. Long story short (too late), it was a pain to put this custom together, but very satisfying to see the final product. This Storm Shadow custom is easily my best ninja custom.
