For my 450th custom, I went with a character that has some importance in the GI Joe mythos.

Character:

Kamakura was introduced as Snake-Eyes' apprentice when GI Joe returned to comic book form in the early 2000s. In this continuity, which was later replaced by Hama's continuation of his own writing, Kamakura came out of Snake-Eyes shadow over time, growing into a solid character.

In Hama's writing, there was no Kamakura, but Kamakura's alter ego, Sean Collins, became a different character. That was Throwdown, who then took on the codename of Snake-Eyes. As someone who didn't like Blaylock's writing, but has found Hama's new writing pointless, I'm on team Kamakura.

Design:

A character whose outfit was never quite the same from page to page, or later from figure to figure, these are mostly ninja parts, plus the frequently worn forearm and shin guards. Kamakura is also done here in ARAH format, as he's had official New Sculpt, Modern Era, 1:6 scale, and Classified versions.

The Marauder Uzi is amazing, but it won't fit in hands without that "the plastic's going to crack" feeling, so it's stuck as an extra piece on the backpack.

Colors & Paint:

Largely based on the Classified figure, with a coppery bronze replacing silver for the forearm and shin guards.

Sculpting & Modifying:

Epoxy has been added to mask to add more material, and to sculpt the forearm and shin guards. The shoulder/elbow rivets and thigh screw insets are also epoxied smooth.

Thanks for looking.
