GI Joe

Character:

Breaker was one of the original '82 Joes brought back for the Star & Stripes Forever set. Hasbro butchered the figure, plopping a General Hawk head on a Roadblock V2 body. The prototype artwork featured Breaker made using an '83 Breaker figure in a new color scheme. The actual produced figure was less than graceful, having been slopped together from different and mismatched parts.

Design/Colors & Paint:

The goal here is to use the prototypes color scheme, a tan top over an olive bottom, but on different pieces. Plus red around the neck to show some early Marvel Comics influence. A few OG13 pieces are thrown in as a nod to the original Breaker figure. The helmet with the goggles is inspired by the Classified Series Breaker. All in all, it's a Marvel/Stars and Stripes Forever/Classified fusion.

The stubble is a nod to the one time Trimpe drew Breaker with a beard, in the the Order of Battle series. It also helps disguise the Ripcord face.

The rifle is a Fortnite mini-accessory. It's slightly undersized, but keeps with the overall design while giving just a bit of freshness to it.

Sculpting & Modifying:

The helmet had holes added for the headset pegs. The shoulder/elbow rivets and thigh screw insets have been smooth with epoxy.
