The head and all parts of the upper body are from the Joe vs. Cobra Black Cobra Moray figure. The waist came from a Valor vs. Venom snake Eyes (modified), the upper legs were taken from a Spy Troops Snake-Eyes, and the lower legs were pieced together from a Chap Mei figure, with Spy Troops Snake-Eyes swivel feet attached.

The Joe vs. Cobra Moray is one of my favorite Hasbro sculpts. Its only flaw is the limited articulation of the t-crotch design. Unlike the later Valor vs. Venom Electric Eel (which suffered from some very odd proportions), the Moray looked fierce and slightly futuristic, but still within the realms of a plausible soldier. It was a style worthy of the highly skilled, threatening character the Eels was originally intended to be. Even though the costume and colors weren't an homage to the original Eels, the Moray seemed like a superior update to the vintage figure. Given its easy availability, it became the mainstay of my Cobra naval forces. This custom came about while I was experimenting with parts to make the figure match the rest of the o-ringed ranks. I tried to retain the best elements of the Moray, and augment them with other complimentary parts. The new legs and attached gear make him looked well equipped for a variety of missions, without sacrificing articulation. The added ankle joints even allow him a greater variety of poses, including more realistic positions for his feet while swimming.
