The Plague Troopers are personal security operatives assigned by Cobra Commander to various Cobra Operatives while working abroad on Cobra secret projects. The Plague Troopers are considered the 'Best of the Worst,' being drawn from the most talented of each of Cobra/Viper Specialties into the secret service. Most of the time, the other rank-and-file troops aren't aware that one of their own was selected for Plague duty -- they just disappear one day. Being assigned as a PT is a life-long position -- it just so happens that the life expectancy of a Plague Trooper isn't necessarily very long.
