Mech is a member of Phoenix Guard a team assembled by Cobra Commander to replace GI Joe. Mech's actual identy is Scrap Iron His specialty is equipment and weapons. The team was led by General Rey who actually was a Serpentor clone. He turned on the team and helped the Joes take them down.

The Phoenix Guard was one of my favorite DDP story arcs and creations. I hope to see more of them in the future.
