Cobra being a heavily male-oriented terrorist organization, advancement by women through the ranks is often difficult, if not impossible, to achieve, unless you have an edge to work with. Vypress has that edge; using a combination of seduction, guile and complete ruthlessness she's worked her way up from a no-name Blueshirt to one of the most coveted-and dangerous-positions in Cobra, that of an Enforcer.

An Enforcer is a powerful position, a sort of internal investigator that is essentially judge, jury and executioner, answering only to the Commander himself. They also embody the role of a political officer-Cobra politics, mainly-and are often attached to Viper units (Vypress holds a commander rank in the Viper legions and is as highly skilled as any of her male counterparts, if not moreso) to watch for signs of dissent or disloyalty. Any such indications are quickly investigated and removed-permanently.

Vypress is a woman lacking in anything resembling a conscience; she can smile sweetly at you even as she's torturing you for information, and her idea of loyalty involves nothing more than how valuable you are to her at the moment, with the notable exception of her loyalty to the ideal of Cobra, and the Commander's dream. She is a master manipulator, able to turn her emotions on and off and able to "read" the body language of others, the better to elicit the proper responses or information.

Rumor among the Cobra ranks is she has an eye on the Baroness' position, a rumor the Baroness scoffs at publicly but takes quite seriously, and the two women have a quiet and very dangerous, if secret, animosity that one day soon will likely blow wide open...

Design Notes: Two major points of note with Vypress are her head and arms. I loved the idea of using the Marisa Coulter head--it's both attractive and cold--but hated the hair style, so I decided to build that up. Dunno why but making her a redhead, ala Scarlett, really appealed to me, and it worked very well. Unfortunately having to "build" a neck for her means the head is essentially fused into place. The neck came out a bit rougher than planned; it was meant to look like a loose turtleneck design, under her armor.

The arms were another part I liked, but I HATED the "split wrist" look of the 25A Flint; so I ended up "extending" the sleeves by using Green Stuff. Doing so wasn't easy; it meant coating the arms with vegetable oil and forming the Green Stuff around the lower arms, periodically twisting the hand to keep the wrist joint free. It took two tries over several days, but I got it to work. I then painted part of the torso to match the arms, and painted up the boots/pouches to better match the rest of her look.
