Name: Kambei
House: Tazman
Naval Rank: Captain (when commanding starship)
Rank: Admiral/High Council Member
House Motto: Size is Impressive, but Greatness is Enduring

Kambei was born to fusion parents in the Tazman Estate on the Klingon planet Klinzhai. His parents both held the rank of Thought Master. His father was an engineer with the Imperial Navy, his mother a medical specialist based in Throne City.
His boyhood was atypical for a young fusion. Hunting, Klin Zha, combat practice and playing on the Naval Ship Simulators. But whereas most boys of his age were boisterous, Kambei was quiet and studious, preferring to spend time talking to his older relatives who had already served in the Imperial Navy. He was also living a somewhat hedonistic lifestyle of fine drink and food. The women would come later.
Kambei entered the Naval Academy at the required age of 10 years. He surprised the family by taking the Command Path route of Security and Helm instead of Engineering Sciences like his father and grandfather. He passed easily through the Academy. Along the way, he tested out various alcoholic recipes on his fellow cadets, eventually using the more successful ones and a small legacy to create the Tazman Brewery as a source of private income for himself. The current range being Vintage Romulan Ale (banned in the Federation), Matured Blood Wine, Targ Beer, and NovaKill, a drink so potent that most worlds have banned its consumption without a health certificate.
His first posting was on the IKV Undefeated under the command of his uncle, Kor. He rose steadily through the ranks until he became first officer. A bad injury during a raid meant that he had either to retire or take a teaching post at the Academy. He chose the latter while his mother's contacts worked on his physical rehabilitation. Kambei had his own theories on this and purchased a luxury penthouse suite on the pleasure planet Risa with the profits from his brewery. He found that far from being the hedonistic paradise it advertised itself as being, Risa was a hotbed if intrigue and deception. Kambei reactivated his Imperial Security credentials and got back down to work with a vengeance, creating a network of intelligence operatives and private agents of as many races as possible, supplying him with information, a network he still maintains. He counts Romulans, Ferengi, Cardassians, Humans, Bajorans and Vulcans amongst his many friends. In fact, he represented the Klingon Empire at the funeral of Sarek of Vulcan.
After five years, Kambei's network had grown so efficient, he decided to leave it running and go back into space. He 'borrowed an experimental model of the K'Vort Class Bird of Prey Cruiser encompassing BioTechnic Technology. He named it the Deviant and gathered a hand picked crew. More to annoy his Imperial Klingon first officer, he also chose a mascot for the ship. It is a genetically enhanced Tribble, its brain increased to sentient level, its gland that causes allergies in Klingons removed, and giving it eyes. It seems that Kambei can actually understand the chirps and grunts that Tribbert makes. Tribbert often sits on Kambei's left shoulder when he is on the bridge. The command crew of the Deviant suspect that there is a sort of symbiotic relationship between their Captain and Tribbert, but know better than to ask.
It was during this period that Kambei and his First Officer, Ke'reth were awarded the Order of the Bath'leth by Gowron, Supreme Chancellor of the Klingon Empire, and Kambei was given a seat on the High Council. Kambei also found that his increasing fame attracted potential mates. He managed to become bonded to six consorts. Five are still alive, one was killed while attempting to murder Kambei and the crew of his ship. He has since divorced four of the survivors and keeps a sole consort, Zeeta, a green Orion woman.
The Deviant patrols in the Triangle between the Federation, Romulan and Klingon Neutral Zones, taking advantage of Kambei's good relations with high ranking officials from all three Empires. He tries to get back to Risa for shore leave as often as possible.
