In trying to update my GI Joe team, I thought that Stuart had a role in the team. Both as an instructor and as an operative.

While the DTC figure was a move in the right direction . . . it never saw the light of day. I wanted a similar look, however. I can't say I was ever fond of having "SURVIVAL" on his shirt, so that saved me the hassle of trying to paint it on.

There was an episode of "Malcolm in the Middle" where the military school had a survival weekend. One of the cadets went out naked, with only a survival knife . . . that's how I saw Outback. Hence no big pack, just the bare essentials. Knife, flashlight, canteen, and "enemy" weapon.
